Business Class from Europe is not very often cheaper than Coach but for selected dates in the summer and later in the year, the business fare from Dublin is cheaper than the Economy fare from London. Get buying.

The BA1/2/3/4 service from London City to JFK has had some bad reliability problems recently and yesterday suffered from double cancellations when London City developed a crack. Back on time today, somehow the delays have rolled right past today and on to tomorrow. Of course I am on the flight that already is two hours late. The word from BA? Silence.
Significant changes to Avios are just becoming clearer and the countdown to the changes to BA’s SME scheme, On Business are two weeks away. There is a significant devaluation coming to this scheme if you want to go in First or Club. There is still time book but don’t delay too long.
One of the most desirable seats on BA’s 747-400’s is 64K, a backwards facing window seat with easy aisle access. It seems however, that passengers who have booked this are being moved to other open seats on the plane. So, if you have this booked check your seating and find something else you like.

BA announced reduced earning rates for partners. Many people thought that tickets purchased before 28 April were safe at the old levels, it appears not. BA have now said on Flyertalk that if these flight are not booked with BA flight numbers they won’t earn at the old rates. Who knew?
Everyone was waiting for more information on partner earning of Avios and BA has released the information on the day that the changes came in. The reductions in earning on many of the lowest economy tickets is significant; up to 75% in some cases.
The BA Concorde Room at JFK is a haven for passengers travelling First Class with BA to London. With its own sit down restaurant and waiter service it reminds me of the Cathay Lounges at Hong Kong, except it’s usually quieter as you have to score 5,000 Tier Points for an admission card or else be flying First.
