I was browsing hotel options in New York around Easter and came across this ‘bargain’. As a Diamond Member of Hilton’s HHonors programme I get guaranteed room availability. But this offer clearly comes at a price – $6,000. Just for one room you understand, not the whole hotel. Thankfully there are plenty of other choices…

La Compagnie brings all Business Class operation to London
La Compagnie is starting services from London Luton Airport to Newark from 24 April 2015. You can book a saver ticket (limited to 500) for about £650 roundtrip including taxes. There is a review of their Paris service here. The flight times are not wonderful as the flight leaves Luton at 1745 and arrives at 2100.…
The Park Hyatt, New York – superb room and service!
Could the old TWA terminal at JFK become a hotel?
The New York Port Authority issued a request for proposals to convert the old TWA terminal at JFK in to a first class hotel in early October. The terminal, an icon at JFK, has been empty since 2001, with occasional visits possible during one of the New York Open House events. In recent weeks I have…
Hilton JFK, another hotel to avoid ?
The noisy air-conditioning in the rooms at this property may make it another hotel at JFK to avoid for light sleepers. Have a quick look at the King and Queen rooms in this review based on two recent stays. Will there be any properties left I can stay at in JFK?
Hotel Review: Hilton Garden Inn, JFK
Located about 10 minutes from JFK, this review of the Hilton Garden Inn shows it a good solid hotel property. Usually better value than the nearby Hilton, I would commend it to those required to stay overnight at the airport. Pictures of room included.
The ‘other’ Concorde Room, at JFK.
I wrote recently about a very disappointing experience at the Concorde Room at Heathrow Terminal 5. These rooms only exist at Heathrow and JFK and are reserved for the must frequent flyers and First Class passengers of British Airways. So, I was unsure what to expect at the ‘other’ club on my return from JFK.…
AA’s Flagship Lounge at JFK – Morning Service
Having been turned away from the Flagship Check-in at JFK, I was pleased that access to the Flagship Lounge had not been changed. To obtain access you show your boarding pass at the entrance with an appropriate OneWorld status card if you obtain access that way. I was on an Avios award ticket in First…
Has American changed access to its Flagship Check-in?
It appears that American may have changed access to it’s rather nice Flagship check-in. The service gives a nice check-in experience to a small range of customers at it’s key hubs – JFK, Chicago, LAX and Miami. The AA web site says that access is restricted to: A ConciergeKeySM member A Five Star ServiceSM customer…
