One my defining hotel stays of 2014 was at the Park Hyatt, New York. A superb upgrade and great service from everyone I met has made this aspirational property somewhere I want to go back as and when I can afford it. It really is THE place to stay in New York.

Hyatt confirms status match/challenge dead
For several months Hyatt has been doing a status challenge, where you can qualify for Diamond status after a smaller number of stays than normal. However, you did earn the 4 suite upgrades whilst test driving the status. That all ended on 31 October when the current challenge arrangements ended. Let’s hope it comes back…
