Green, Green, Green came the cry from Jake/Thad/Noah wanting yet another macaroon from the selection of food available in the small lounge at London City Airport. No one said anything as the cry got louder, not even his parents. Poor Jake/Thad/Noah, aged 3, got a discussion with his father about sharing, before being given another macaroon.

BA Catering meltdown at Heathrow – 1 July 2015
It had been a good travel day until we were bussed to the plan on hottest day of the year, took a thirty minute delay and were then told that there was no food. Another day on British Airways it seems.

BA appears to be honouring pre-28 April partner earning at old levels
When BA announced significant changes to its Avios earning programme, it promised that tickets issued by 28 April would be honoured at the old, typically more generous, rates. However, partner earning didn’t work like that when 28 April came. Now BA are stepping up and manually adding the missing Avios – if you ask for them.
BA OnBusiness scheme relaunches
BA has a scheme for Small and Medium businesses allowing them to earn points separate from their travellers who earn their normal points. The scheme has been switched to a revenue based scheme and got markedly less generous. However, there is a way to secure a 5% discount on BA fares, by giving up your OnBuiness points. Worth taking in my view. The scheme has decent availability – better than Avios from what I can see. However, you have to book upgrades at the ticket of ticketing at their web site, and it doesn’t offer the cheapest fare when upgrading.
