The Aer Lingus lounge in Terminal 2 at Dublin Airport services a number of airlines leaving from the newer of the two terminals at DUB. Busy in the morning for the US-bound passengers waiting to be called to Pre-Clearance, it serves as a reasonable place to wait. Great views of the airfield help pass the time.
BA and Iberia have long been looking to acquire Irish flag carrier, Aer Lingus. The Irish Government appears to be ready to sell their 25% stake and have already briefed the airlines union.
It appears that on Friday 13th (!) the Aer Lingus board recommended their takeover by the parent company of British Airways and Iberia, IAG. The share value was EUR2.90. However, with Ryanair and the Irish Government having significant shareholdings it’s not yet a done deal.
Aer Lingus are moving to T5 at JFK from 3 April, the JetBlue Terminal. No permanent lounge yet they say, but a temporary one is located at Gate One, and a new one is on the way.
