BA is moving its flights around at Heathrow between terminals. Terminal 1 closes later in the month and BA have to accommodate the loss of gates. Later in a year a number of long haul destinations switch to Terminal 3, from Terminal 5.
Flight switches on 30 June 2015
Terminal 1 to Terminal 3
British Airways flights between London Heathrow and Bilbao, Hanover, Luxembourg, Lyon and Marseille will move to London Heathrow Terminal 3.
Terminal 1 to Terminal 5
British Airways flights between London Heathrow and Amman, Baku, Beirut and Cairo will move to London Heathrow Terminal 5.
Flight switches on 14 October 2015
Terminal 5 to Terminal 3
British Airways flights between London Heathrow and Accra, Cape Town, Denver, Las Vegas, Miami, Nairobi, Phoenix and Vancouver will move to London Heathrow Terminal 3.
The moves to Terminal 3 are especially disappointing as T3 has famously the most rude security staff at Heathrow and the lounges are not as nice as T5’s and indeed, there is no Concorde Room at T3. I suspect that the flights selected don’t have as many business travellers as other flights.
So it’s worth checking if you are flying to these destinations.
