I cannot find any publicity on the BA.com site yet, but a dummy booking reveals a discount being applied from today – about 25% on the example I found – LCY-JFK-MIA for February 2013. It took 12,500 points off a 65,000 point booking originally: No discount off the taxes or fuel surcharge of course!

Short report BA LAX-LHR…New First
I recently flew back from LAX to LHR with BA in F using points and these are just a few, short, observations. Thomas Bradley International Terminal LAX This is a terminal that totally hate having had one or two of my worst US Immigration experiences here and so I tend to avoid anything that would…
BA ex-London Seat Sale for Christmas…and £777 to Seoul in Club World
BA has launched its customary Christmas and New Year Premium Cabin Seat Sale, a few days after the one for Europe finished. AA is matching these fares. The US deals are not as good as the £1006 deals for last year I am afraid. Book by 13 November Travel 14 Dec – 4 Jan Club…
Island Hopping with American Airlines (San Juan to Honolulu)
Background One day last weekend I flew from San Juan, Puerto Rico to Honolulu, Hawaii on American Airlines. The reason for this is that represented a great way to earn BA Tier Points – which are based on distance as well as class of service – and at $999 for revenue First, it was a…
BA retimes BA001 (LCY-JFK) to 0950 for winter
Some time ago I wrote about changes to the London City to New York service from BA. Specifically that the late flight BA3 was losing pre-clearance of US Immigration during the refueling stop in Shannon. This is confirmed by BA, but what I had missed is that BA1, the earlier departure is being re-timed to…
BA3 LCY-JFK loses pre-clearance from 28 October
In July I reported speculation that the late BA flight might lose its pre-clearance. This now confirmed:
BA at Copenhagen
Just a couple of years ago BA used to operate their own BA lounge which was quite near to their departure gates. This closed some time ago and they now use the lounge of their handling agent. I assume this is connected to the fact that BA flights now arrive in the main non-Schengen area,…
BA London Heathrow to Dublin – Club
I travelled from London to Dublin with BA last week using the service that used to be British Midland, from Terminal 1. I did online check-in and received my boarding pass in advance. You cannot do this on flights from Dublin. BA uses two lounges in Terminal, pretty much as bmi used to do. The…
BA ending foreign exchange relationship with Travelex on 31 Aug 2012
On the BA web site there is a small announcement that BA will be ending its long standing partnership with Travelex on 31 August. Flyertalk talk reports Executive Club members are receiving emails advising that the new deal will be with American Express Travel.
Two Boarding Area bloggers reporting major change to AA Club Access for OneWorld elites
Many BA Golds and Silver like their access to Admirals Clubs and Flagship lounges when travelling on American Airlines within the USA. Two of my fellow bloggers (GhettoIFE and One Mile At A Time) are reporting this and are saying that this has been removed, based on changes to the OneWorld web site. The offending…
