The BA Concorde Room at JFK is a haven for passengers travelling First Class with BA to London. With its own sit down restaurant and waiter service it reminds me of the Cathay Lounges at Hong Kong, except it’s usually quieter as you have to score 5,000 Tier Points for an admission card or else be flying First.

A week to go until the BA Exec Changes occur
Avios gone? And they’re back
Just logged in to my BA account and a further ex-gracia transaction has occurred which recredits the number of Avios which BA deducted earlier in the week as a safety measure following a security breach at the third party. You can read the post here. BA initially told me it would take two weeks for…
Avios gone? What the BA email says
I wrote earlier this morning about the problem with BA accounts being frozen. A couple of people has asked to see the email. The text is below: Dear Customer British Airways has become aware of some unauthorised activity in relation to your Executive Club account. This appears to have been the result of a third party using information obtained…
Avios gone? Why I’m pretty calm about the whole thing.
There is hysteria in the air on the internet. Yesterday blogger after blogger went in to meltdown because BA had identified a security breach and were proactively taking steps to prevent problems with members accounts. These two steps were (a) forcing a password change on your account and (b) moving your avios out of your…
BA starts selling Hand Baggage Only fares without a choice of seats (without payment).
Some weeks ago BA announced that it was taking away the option to choose seats for passengers travelling on its cheapest, hand baggage only fares. Even elite members. Queue over 1,000 posts on Flyertalk.com I wrote to BA asking why they had done it. Two weeks later I got the standard reply: I am sorry…
BA e-mailing passengers over Easter with info about travelling.
In what has to be one of the oddest emails I have received in a long time from a major airline, BA appears to be writing to people travelling over Easter to warn them about awful it is going to be. BA travellers are long uses to emails 28 and 7 days before travel reminding…
How large is your Club Europe cabin?
As most people will know, BA, like many airlines changes the location of the curtain between Business Class and Economy on flights within Europe, to match demand. Typically they have 3-5 rows in my experience. Imagine my surprise when a forthcoming short hop from Dublin to London, at 7am on a Thursday has 12 rows:
BA cancelling London City to JFK service for Christmas and New Year
BA cancelling flights around Thanksgiving – including BA1
I logged on to my BA account yesterday and was greeted with the annoying red bar indicating that something had changed with my flights. It was a little bit of a surprise that BA were cancelling flights for November already, but then I realised that it was the Thanksgiving weekend. A little surprised that a US…
