Light Rail coming to LAX, in 2022
In a significant enhancement for travellers to LAX, Light Rail is now being planned to have an extension there by 2022. The construction of a new station will enable LAX to build a people mover system within the airport, making it more friendly for travellers than the endless buses or long walks now required.

Changes to the policy on electronic devices when flying from the UK
In a welcome change, British Airways has relaxed the policy for passengers whose electronics will not turn on. However, the UK Government has extended the new rules to more destinations – but won’t name them.
Best Upgrade Ever! Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok…part 1
Miles from Blighty stayed at the Grand Hyatt Bangkok and scored a super upgrade! A bungalow next to the pool was his home for the two night stay in June 2014.
BA and the US electronics rules – cannot turn it on; you cannot fly.
With the new rules on the travel for electronic devices to the US being introduced, British Airways has gone further – if it won’t turn on, neither you nor the device are flying. Some passengers may well be stranded for a time if the airlines finds your phone has run out of power. Those airport charging points are going to become a vital need for some.
Grand Hyatt, Doha, Qatar
Miles from Blighty reports on his one night stay at the luxury Grand Hyatt Doha in Qatar. A super room and a great view of the city at night makes this a good property when in the Middle East. Great views of the city can be had from the rooms with balconies.
Big changes coming to DC Metro in Washington, Silver Line from July 26
Whilst a proper extension of the DC metro silver line to Dulles airport is not expected until 2018, the extension due to open before the end of the month offers some new options for flyers. The silver line also provides service in to downtown.
