My go to property at Miami Airport is the Hyatt House. It’s close to the airport and provides good value, and free breakfast, shuttle and WiFi. And, it seems as if it’s getting a makeover. I hope this is going to be rolled out to all Hyatt Houses.
I have been highly critical of the Radisson Blu Dublin Airport during every stay there recent years. This is a review from 2012 which was pretty good in fact. Since then the experience has been awful – dirty and soiled furniture, lack of upgrades for Gold Club Carlson members, rooms in lower categories than…
The CAA, UK’s regulator, is looking for new members of it’s Consumer Panel. It describes the panel as follows: The Panel is looking for members who are committed to helping the CAA fully understand, and take account of the interests of consumers in its policy development and decisions. We want people who will ensure that…
The internet is awash with images of signs going up in United Clubs this past week. On the back of recent increases in membership rates, and enhanced food selections, United is now seeking to limit access to those travelling just on the day of their visit. Exclusive? When? It has been possible to secure…
Heathrow Airport, in probably one of the oddest moves ever, has released a training video for its staff. It covers how to handle Imaginary Friends. Yeap, that’s right – in the face of complaints from passengers about massive queues, unpleasant encounters with staff and retaliatory secondary screenings, Heathrow is concentrating on Imaginary Friends as a…
I wrote earlier in the week about how some airport retailers were not passing on the sales tax (VAT) that they recover for purchases by passengers flying outside the EU, to the actual passengers. Today One Mile at a Time has an interesting take on the situation. You can read it here. Whilst admitting that…
Hotels interpret the use of Hyatt’s Diamond Suite Upgrades very differently. Luckily for my Fourth-of-July stay the Hyatt Regency Boston Harbour decided to go the whole hog and give me the Presidential Suite. A great, newly refreshed, suite lead to a great stay.
Originally booked when the plane was a shiny 767, frequent changes of plane and timing, meant that my Dublin to JFK flight turned in to a horrid 757 experience. The 16 seats would, you might have imagined, allowed the crew to concentrate on making up for the awful seats. On this flight the crew really were not interested in the passengers and it showed.
With queues at the TSA only set to grow over the coming months, airside connectors are becoming a good way for airports to help passengers connect quickly. A new corridor at SFO links AA in Terminal 2 with US still in Terminal 1.
Coming back from JFK recently I had dinner in the Concorde Room and wanted to post the menus and pics. It was one of the best meals I have had there full of great tastes and delightfully presented. The menu changes frequently so it may be that these items have gone already but I especially…
