Hotels interpret the use of Hyatt’s Diamond Suite Upgrades very differently. Luckily for my Fourth-of-July stay the Hyatt Regency Boston Harbour decided to go the whole hog and give me the Presidential Suite. A great, newly refreshed, suite lead to a great stay.

I don’t recall the last time that I stayed at a large hotel that was actually sold out. My Memorial Day weekend in Honolulu at the Hyatt Regency was exactly that, and whilst I didn’t score the customary room upgrade, it served as a reminder that sometimes you get what you pay for, and that’s not too bad.
The Concourse Hotel at LAX revisited
The old Radisson at LAX has become a Hyatt affiliate hotel and so earns stay credits with Gold Passport, my must have frequent stay scheme. A last minute booking secured both a great rate and a good upgrade to a suite on the top floor. The hotel does a great job at protecting you from aircraft noise and run a good shuttle to and from the airport. Well worth considering if you need a stay in the LAX area.
Review: Hilton JFK
Running a free shuttle to and from JFK makes this property typical of those at JFK. That it is slightly better than average is an indication of how poor the other options are here. A review of the Executive Club at the Hilton is included.
Review: Sheraton Skyline, Heathrow
A solid hotel located on the Bath Road at Heathrow, within the free travel zone, offers a reasonable stay.
Review: Grand Hyatt, New York
The Grand Hyatt New York, for the longest time the chains only property in Manhattan, is a large, typically convention hotel. However, its refurbishment has been done well and it is starting to become a great place to stay. Despite confusion about my room, the staff were helpful and the Grand Club excellent.
Hyatt Regency Waikiki – the old lady’s had a makeover.
It’s been a couple of years since I visited this property. With attractive airfares from Dublin, and renovation of the rooms underway, it was too good a chance to miss.
OMG: I scored an upgrade at the Radisson Dublin Airport
Unreliable upgrades for Gold Members of Club Carlson mark most of my visits to the Radisson at Dublin Airport. However, on this stay just before Easter I secured a key to a much vaulted Business Class Room.
