BA1 – London City to JFK
Last month I travelled on the BA1 flight from London City to New York (JFK), for the first time since its flight time had changed to the morning. BA still operate two flights a day for most of the year – summer and Christmas/New Year are the exceptions – but only the early flight gets…
BA Web site now remembers previous searches
Checking on my Executive Club home page today and noticed that the site is now remembering my recent searches: Another nice new feature from BA, after the ability to upgrade from the mobile app which I mentioned yesterday.
BA mobile app now selling upgrades
I downloaded a new set of flights and found that a future flight is available for paid upgrade, and the price is displayed on the mobile app. Following the link shows the price:
£100 BA Club Europe flight over £350 – works with Shareholder discount

The UK’s Daily Mail is reporting that BA’s flight to Beijing was forced to land in Siberia by a fault with the onboard computer. Flighttrackers seems to support this: The plane, a B747-400 had 270 passengers and 16 crew. The report states that these were accommodated in hotels locally and BA had to fly out engineers.…
Memory Monday: Going round at JFK
Many years ago, on what was my first ‘proper’ business trip I was travelling to JFK. It was the days of the ‘Multiple Entry Indefinite Validity’ visas, when BA had 747-200’s and their cradle seat. I was well impressed securing a seat upstairs – the first time I had ever been up there. However,…
BA LHR-JFK, Club World
My connection from Dublin lead me to fly on BA177 to JFK, on the Upper Deck in 64A – a window seat in the last row, with excellent privacy. On arrival at Heathrow, we were directed to a shuttle bus which took us straight to Flight Connections. A transfer directly across the ground floor eliminated…
