Tomorrow will see on United again for the first time since 2018

When United created the Global Services level I saw the writing on the wall for my travels. I was never going to make it to this level with its estimated $50,000 required annual spend, and whilst I would remain a 1K, lots of the perks were taken away. The final straw was having my seat moved to accommodate the requirements of a Global Services Member and the near impossibility of securing an upgrade from London with United.

After 3,577,539 flown miles with United I stopped travelling with them at the end of 2018. 4 Million Miles would have secured me Global Services but I was unsure I could bear 422k plus miles to get there. a screenshot of a phone

Anyway, I have to go to Florida tomorrow and so am venturing back on to United as the fares were much cheaper than American and I could use my PlusPoints to upgrade.

So it’ll be interesting to see what the United experience is going to be.

It’s a very short trip, just overnight, from Chicago. The clubs at O’Hare seem to be open, but the one at Fort Lauderdale remains closed. The flight seems fairly empty in first but I am sure it will fill with upgrades before we leave. It’s the inevitable 737 aircraft of course, but I will be interested to see what the service is like on the short 3 1/2 hour flight.

(I know the picture is 757 but it’s been a while since I flew on United!)
