From 14 December BA will be changing the way in which they calculate the fee they impose to use your credit card for purchases on their site. The fee will be 1% of the purchase price, up to a maximum of £20.

Passenger whose purchase total is less than £500 will be better off – BA charge a standard £5 fee at the moment. Those over £2000 will benefit from the upper limit cap.

It is worth noting that Virgin doesn’t charge anything to use their site to book.
