I had a recent stay at the Hyatt Regency, Waikiki and noticed four changes since my last stay, 6 months before.
- It’s easier to get to the lifts
To get to the lifts you used to have walk around a wooden barrier. Not a big deal – only an extra 1-2 minutes, but the barrier is gone now and you can walk up right to the lifts. See above.
2. You get a wristband room key card
At check-in I was given a room key and fitted with my tracker electronic room key. The bracelet got me in to my room and the Grand Club lounge by holding it against the doors. I assume it would have got me other benefits had I needed them. I understand that there are different colours depending on whether you are an elite member or not.
3. They have new furniture in the Grand Club Lounge
They seem to have responded to peak demands by putting more tables in to the lounge – including this big table with high stools.
4. They ARE charging the Resort Fee to Diamond Gold Passport members
Previously waived for Diamond members of Hyatt Frequent Stayer Programme, the daily fee is now applied.
BUT, they haven’t changed the friendly staff or the weather – both of which is good news.
I hope they charged you for staying at that hotel. Your review is rubbish.
@Sam McCurry – it wasn’t a review – there are plenty of those already on the blog.
