Doubletree hotels in the US are rolling out premium extras as an upgrade in exchange for a fee of $25-$35. The creation of ‘Little Extras’ floors start a differential between their rooms which has typically not existed until now. The US properties have a choice of three different styles of Little Extra.
1. Little Extras Snack Bag: Guests receive in-room delivery on a display tray which includes one bag of chips, one candy and one healthy snack, along with two bottles of water, a piece of fruit, two drink vouchers and in-room Wi-Fi.
2. Little Extras Refreshment Center: Guests receive 24-hour access to a self-service refreshment center located on the Little Extras Floor(s) with unlimited snacks and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as an in-room premium coffee brewer and Wi-Fi.
3. Little Extras Snack Pantry: Guests receive 24-hour access to a self-service area located on the Little Extras Floor(s) with unlimited snacks and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as an in-room premium coffee brewer and Wi-Fi.
The rooms on the special floor can be booked at time of reservation.
It’s unclear how these will impact upgrades for elite members who receive the following benefits if Diamond HHonors members:
Upgrades to Preferred Rooms.Diamond HHonors guests will receive upgrades to preferred rooms, based on availability for the entire stay at the time of check-in. Upgrades for Diamond HHonors guests may include the next-best available room from the room type booked. Upgrades may also be rooms with desirable views, corner rooms, rooms on high floors, rooms with special amenities, rooms on Executive Floors**, or suites, as identified by each property. Some exclusions based on rate and room type may apply.
