In a bit of a surprise move, United is going to start flying to Israel from the West Coast by linking San Francisco to Tel Aviv from 30 March 2016. The 14 hrs 10 minute trip from SFO is mirrored by a 15 hour 5 minute flight back. Longer than SFO to Sydney!. The service will operate three times per week. This route will be served by a B787-9.
The Auckland flight, also three times per week, will start on 1 July with a B787-8 plane. From 28 October 2016 it will operate with a B787-9.
Nice to see UA return to Auckland. I remember flying that route when it used to go on to Melbourne, Australia.
