Heathrow operates a scheme where you can earn points for shopping. One of the benefits is that if you spend £500 in a calendar year you are awarded Premium status and then earn double points. Until now that has pretty much been the only benefit of being a Premium – and although pretty good is a little limited.

Heathrow Rewards however now gives higher speed internet for Premium members. Ordinary members get twice as long free internet as ordinary airport visitors. Members of Heathrow Rewards get 8 free hours, where non-members receive 4 free hours.

So if you want to use the internet at the airport, don’t have lounge access and collect points, it’s worth making it to Premium.
