The BBC is reporting that at least nine people have died following the crash of a TransAsia ATR-72 with 50 people at Taipei airport. The reports state that the plane clipped a bridge after takeoff before going in to the water. Rescuers are pulling people out of the plane and taking them away on stretchers. The plane was operating a domestic flight from Taipei Songshan Airport to the  Kinmen islands, which are close to China.

There is footage appearing to be taken from a passing car showing the plane banking sharply before crashing. You may find the video disturbing.
