The Tower of London has advised visitors to be cautious when going to the poppies at the Tower of London this weekend. Huge crowds were in attendance yesterday and Friday. Friday being the warmest Halloween on record. The weather today is more hostile – wet and windy, and so the visitor numbers may be lower.

Personally I’d advise going early or late if you want to get near the railings, and remember, there are still 9 more days until the last poppy is planted. Check the position on the Underground as they have been closing Tower Hill station due to overcrowding at times.

This really is turning in to the defining event of the Centenary of the outbreak of WW1.
