The UK Government has taken the unusual step of updating all of its travel advice sections with a general warning of revenge attacks against UK nationals.
The statement suggest that attacks on UK nationals are more likely because of the UK’s actions in Iraq and Syria.
The wording is:
There is considered to be a heightened threat of terrorist attack globally against UK interests and British nationals from groups or individuals motivated by the conflict in Iraq and Syria. You should be vigilant at this time.
Probably a higher risk visiting London (Tower of London Poppy memorial), Birmingham, Bradford, Slough or High Wycombe than most overseas holiday destinations.
Hilariously non-specific. What are we meant to do with that blanket warning !!
