The more detailed guidance on the pre-arrival and post-arrival testing changes has been issued and it contains a small wrinkle that impacts people arriving in England between 4am on 7 Jan and 4am on 9 Jan. This applies to the fully vaccinated.

Those arriving in this window are required to get their day 0 to day 2 post-arrival test as a PCR. Those arriving after 4am on 9th can move to the cheaper lateral flow tests.

Those arriving in the window will NOT need to quarantine until the result of their PCR test is known.

This only impacts a relatively small number of people but it is important that they book the correct test.
