Hidden in the updated web site that I wrote about a few days ago, is a bit of bad news. The ability to transfer Heathrow Rewards points to airline schemes is being withdrawn on 31 December 2021. I cannot find an email from Heathrow telling us about this, and I do wonder if many people use the transfer at all.
At the moment – £250 of spend (well most spend) at Heathrow secures you 250 Heathrow Rewards points which can be transferred to 250 miles with:
- AerClub (Aer Lingus)
- Asia Miles
- British Airways
- Emirates
- KrisFlyer (Singapore Airlines)
- Lufthansa
- Royal Skies (Royal Air Brunei)
- Miles + Bonus (Aegean)
- Virgin Atlantic
If you have a small number of Heathrow Rewards points and are not likely to visit the airport soon, this might be one way of getting rid of them.
Transfers have to be done in 250 point increments.
