SPG has announced that it is reducing by half, the points earned with Uber when you are not staying at an SPG hotel.

The earnings rate, from 1 Feb reduces from 1 Starpoint per $1 to 1 per $2 – a reduction of 50%.

To earn with Uber you have to have at least one stay with Starwood in a year.

The rate when you are staying with SPG remains at 2 Starpoints per $1.

To soften the blow, SPG are running a promo for February whereby you earn 5 Starpoints per $1 in conjunction with a stay, just for the month (1-28 Feb 17).
