BA announced today that it is increasing the cost of short US based flights using Avios from 2 Feb 2016.

The current Economy award goes from 4,500 to 7,500 Avios -plus about $6 in taxes.

The same trip in Business Class increases to 15,000 Avios and in First Class to 30,000.

These short haul awards have been seen as great value for US based Avios fliers as often fares on these short segments are high. This is clearly a blow and takes a little more value out of the British Airways Executive Club
