Hotel Review: Hilton, Heathrow Terminal 5

Photo & Video Sharing by SmugMug

I did a short one night return visit to the Hilton Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport. It’s important to know that this hotel is not at Terminal 5. (This is unlike the Hilton at Terminal 4 which is connected to the terminal). Instead you have to catch (and pay) for a Hotel Hoppa which takes about 15 minutes to get to the hotel. It makes one stop in each direction, at the Holiday Inn and Travelodge respectively.

Stop 22 at T5 for Hotel Hoppas

You get the bus from  Stand 22 on the ground (arrivals) level at Terminal 5. Check for the right bus as many stop there. You can buy a ticket in advance on the web, or else from the driver. (Some cashback sites offer money for National Express tickets and you can claim it on these tickets. It only saves pennies though.)

The shuttle comes about every twenty minutes and drops off right outside reception.

The lobby was very christmas themed when I stayed. Truthfully pretty nicely done!

I had checked in on the mobile app and so knew that they had allocated me an Executive Room as an Hhonors Diamond member. The lounge here is pretty decent so I was pleased that they did this. Off to the lifts following a quick check-in and I was on my way to room 484.

A King bedded room that had already been supplied with a bar of chocolate and a half bottle of red wine. How they know me so well I have yet to fathom!

The bedroom somehow escaped being pictured! However, the colourful bathroom, with both bath tub and shower was recorded:

Heated towel rail – luxury, and big towels too.

The bath tub was wide enough to make it feel restful and not cramped.

On the way to the lounge there is rather a nice view of the lobby area from above:

The lounge offers hot and cold snacks in the evenings, and a hot breakfast in the morning. Helpful friendly staff are always there ready to answer a question or offer some advice. The lounge is accessed by your room key removing the need to challenge each customer about whether they should be there. I like this. There are two computers which you can use for free and a printer for boarding passes and alike.

Broken up in to several sitting areas, there are newspapers as well as live news show feeds.

I was able to stay for breakfast in the morning where they had scrambled eggs, sausages, and bacon as well as a wide range of pastries, cereals and cold items.

All round this is an excellent Hilton, although it is far from anything to do. If I had to stay a few nights I might feel very trapped in the middle of an industrial estate. There did seem to be a couple of pubs about 10 minutes up the road if the urge took me.

A good nights sleep can be had as it is well insulated although under the flight path for takeoffs or landings most of the day.

It is worth remembering that topcashback are offering up to 6% rebate on Hilton stays at the moment. (The link is sponsored so that I get a small payment if you sign up using it and then use the service).

  1. Nice review, I visit the other Hilton at Heathrow T4. Its somewhat older bit service-level is nice.
Maybe a tip for the next time.
