Cathay Pacific uses the Leeli Lounge in Male which was a pretty nice place to wait for the flight to Hong Kong.
Surrendering the lounge invite to the agent at the desk and entered the lounge. The flow of passengers ebbed and flowed as flights came and went but there were always seats. I found a place with a socket and used the WiFi to catch up on work.
There were several seating areas and tables were available near the windows.
There was a good range of hot and cold food, featuring the great British combination of chips and curry. It was tasty. There cakes and biscuits were good also.
Following local customs there was no alcohol served in the lounge and it came with this warning.
There was a good range of international newspapers available in the lounge.
The an army of staff members cleared plates and cups as people left and keep a busy lounge very clean.
A decent place to stay if you can secure access.
