South African Airways operates two lounges at Johannesburg. The larger and most used by passengers is on the first floor towards the far end of the terminal from security. There were a number of seating areas although at times you had to search for seat. There were very few power adaptors with people switching seats as soon as someone with a power adaptor left.
There were more seats towards the back of the lounge, past the business centre.
The bar was served by a member of staff and there was no self pour alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks. I assume this is to limit consumption but wasn’t something I liked. This included Coffee!
The food selection was pitiful, making the offerings at a United Club look generous.
The views were quite good, both of passengers in the terminal below and planes arriving at their gates.
Somewhere to sit, but little else.
If you want to read more about SAA lounges you can do so here.
Do they no longer have hot food on the buffet and sandwiches in the coolers to the side of the bar? It used to have a decent selection, though that may have only been later in the evening for the pre-redeye bank of flights.
No, Seth not whilst I was there – perhaps the later departures get better food selections.
