Hat Tip to Canadian Kilometers who has reported on significant changes to the United Award redemption rates for Star Alliance partners. Presumably in an effort to reduce how much they are spending on partner awards.
Examples for US to Europe
One Way
Coach – Now 30k, New Level 30k – No Change
Business – Now 50K, New Level 70k
First – Now 67.5k, New Level 110k
(For 135k you can get a First Class Return on OneWorld with American)
Europe to Australia
One Way
Coach – Unchanged at 55k
Business – 75k increases to 85k
First – 90k increases to 115k
Oddly on the new chart some of the largest increases are within Europe:
One Way
Coach – 12.5k goes to 15k
Business – 20k goes to 30k
First – 30k goes to 40k
Europe to South Asia / North Asia / Japan and Oceania are all the same in First at 115k (one way)
Awful.
People need to protest. And in a big way.

Let it be done in a big way. Bag tags, Tshirts, letters to be handed out to staff in airports, crew, pilots, calls to management….

I want to fly jfk fra nrt on lh f may 2014, what would be the best way, since lh releases f awards only days before departure?.
Hello,
You have mentioned that the South Asia awards are unchanged. Check the *A redemption awards for FC. They have gone up from 80K one way to 140K one way!
@Jason – you have a problem. I cannot see a way that you won’t be paying the higher rates I am afraid.
@IADFlyer123 – I meant that each of South Asia etc. were now at the same redemption level. As you point out they have gone up hugely.
