Hyatt has started adding Lifetime Base Points to their electronic statements with the latest mailing. Mine came today.
The significance is that at 1,000,000 Base Points you can become a Diamond for Life – as you can see only 200,000 left for me, or about $40,000 – daunting!
So close, and just at a time I am falling out of love with Hyatt.
Boy! What a nice balance! (I think I’d be going for those extra 200K)
Looks like it’s time to spend those points, maybe a few years too late already….
@Gerard – indeed you may be right. I have cashed in a good number.
I’m about 350k away from lifetime Diamond.
WOW, you have a LOT of points!
I know, I know, it’s hard to believe but yours truly is only 958,045 points away from Lifetime Diamond. Pretty remarkable accomplishment but I don’t want to toot my own horn. About $191,000 or so of spend left but who’s counting change! After achieving Diamond which I’m sure will be within the next 40 years, I’ll move on to the super secret Quartz level. You didn’t hear it here. Shhhh.
Impressive…you must be OLD 🙂
I don’t know how it can only be 5 base points per $$. My lifetime points is 135,780 which would work out to $27,156. I have only been diamond for three years with 25 visits per year….not even close to spending $27k for 135k lifetime points. Am I just lucky?
@TobyK – yes looks like you have been lucky! Well done.
@TobyK — Points transferred from Chase and points earned from spend on a Hyatt VISA counted towards Lifetime Base Points up until a year or so ago. Maybe that explains your extra points?
I found that listing on a recent statement and was disappointed that my lifetime base points starts with a 2. I thought I was farther along than that. I don’t think I’ll make lifetime Diamond in this lifetime
