After a week of generally disappointing announcements from United (harder elite criteria, increase change fees), they have announced that Airbus will be supplying some A35o’s for them.
The 35 aircraft will be A350-1000’s and delivery will start in 2018, about a year after the aircraft goes in to service.

Well, after Boeing’s disapppointing showing with the 788 no wonder they are hedging their bets. Airbus is on the ascendency IMO.
