Holiday Inn Express, La Guardia Airport

On the way to San Juan I needed to stay at La Guardia airport. Most hotels were madly expensive, so I picked the HIX. I had to catch a cab as I had arrived at JFK and the driver had to programme his SatNav. This was good as the hotel is off a very busy interchange and we would surely have passed it without the SatNav.

The room was a standard HIX room:

a hotel room with a bed and a window

Bedroom

a bathroom with a sink and a toilet

Bathroom

The air-con was a through-the-wall model which was noisy. Luckily I was on the back of the hotel so no noise from the road junction.

Bus Service

There service runs about hourly – worth remembering to check if you need a pick-up. The shuttle drive took the bus to Delta Marine Terminal before doubling back to drop me off at the main terminal. I imagine that the Captain with me on the bus (just two of us),  was more of a priority.

Summary

An OK hotel, not in the best location, but fine for an early flight. No recognition of Platinum benefits.
