I wrote yesterday about changes to Mileage Plus that were not good for flyers and just when I thought that United had finished their devaluation along come two more Cash-Is-King changes.

GLOBAL ENTRY FEE PAYMENT REMOVED
I was lucky enough to secure GE last year and United paid the fee for me as a 1K. This is being removed from 1 Feb 2015.

PS SERVICE UPGRADES WITH MILES
For some years UA has waived the fee when upgrading for their ps flights from JFK to Los Angeles and San Francisco. As these flights are excluded from the Unlimited Domestic Upgrades nonsense, this was a way for members to get an upgrade if they didn’t have Regional Upgrades.

Yes that’s right a $250 Co-Pay – each way if you want to upgrade on ps! Oh yes, and 20,000 miles each way!
