I stayed at the Hilton Cardiff a couple of weeks ago and had a pleasant stay.
The property is located about a 10 minute walk from Cardiff Central Station and overlooks the Castle and surrounding parks.
The property is a U shape with rooms around the two long sides:
When I arrived there was no line at the desk, and the staff confirmed that they had upgraded me to the Executive Floor – in fact I had booked an Executive Room! They also advised that as a HHonors Gold I could take breakfast in the lounge or restaurant. Unfortunately one of the two lifts was out of service and so there was a long wait to get to the room – 701, right at the end of the corridor.
Whilst not large, the room was comfortable and there was a nice comfy chair and place to work.
The view from the window was pretty and although it overlooked a main road, there was a little noise.
The bathroom had a bath and a seperate shower with plenty of towels and the usual Hilton toiletries.
I popped along to the lounge for a snack. They had a range of cheese and cold meats, drinks, as well as a couple of warm items. They staff were not overly friendly but happily found a paper cup when I wanted to take a coffee back to my room. They are very firm about items being removed from the lounge. There were about 25 seats and it was full almost all the time I was there.
Morning view from my room:
The lounge was not as busy in the morning, and there were a couple of warm items as well as bakery items, toast, ham, cheese and salmon. The opening time of 0730 at weekend seemed a little later.
Summary
A good stay, although at £144, a little expensive in my view.
