REVIEW: Holiday Inn Express, Orchard Road, Singapore

Holiday Inn Express SIN

The Holiday Inn Express, Orchard Road is a two minute walk off Orchard Road in Singapore. Located a 10-15 minute walk from the Orchard Road underground station, the property is a multi-storey construction, with ten floors.

At check-in, the staff were friendly and efficient. There was a little bit of a wait whilst the staff sorted out various other guests with a whole range of questions. The agent offered me a drink from the cool cabinet (instead of the points, I might add), some form of iced-tea. Then provided the registration card and room key.

The two lifts require the key to be inserted to get access to the floors. The room I had been allocated was on the top floor, matching my profile.

Opening the door I was surprised how large it was – not enormous you understand but a good size, and there was a nice comfy chair next to the window with a foot stall. The room had a chair to work with the wall mounted desk. There was a kettle, coffee, tea and sugar in the room. The drapes were heavy and keep the light our whilst I slept. There was the usual choice of hard and soft pillows.

The WiFi, which was pretty fast, required your room number and name to login.

The bathroom was small, but functional. The shower was large and had good water pressure. There were a decent number of towels in the bathroom.

I had a good nights sleep and work for their breakfast which starts at 6.30am, and runs to 10.30am on Weekdays and 11am at weekends. There was a good choice of cereals, cold meats and cheese, pastries and juices.

A pretty good stay, at a reasonable price in a good location for shopping.
