The Hyatt Affiliate, Concourse Hotel at LAX used to be a Radisson. I wrote about it last October – you can read the review here.
A recent change of schedule on the way back from Hawaii required a quick overnight stay at LAX. Any stay credit with Hyatt is welcome and with a room rate of around $89 for a Sunday night over Easter, this felt like a winner.
I arrived kerb side at American’s Terminal 4 at LAX around 10pm. The shuttle bus too longer than normal and kept me waiting all of 15 minutes. Shock, Horror! However, we were back at the hotel in 10 minutes as there were no other passengers requiring the shared bus.
There was no queue at check-in and after a photo-id check, I had my room key and was off to the 12th floor.
Opening the door, I realised that the agent had upgraded me to a suite I had enjoyed before, when the property was a Radisson. Effectively two rooms, it has a huge sitting room area, two bathrooms as well as the bedroom.
There is a large desk and the hotel has free WiFi.
The sofas at the living room end are clustered around the TV:
Much more room than I needed on a short stay, it was still lovely that they had upgraded me.
The bedroom featured a comfortable King Bed:
The two bathrooms, one adjacent to the bedroom and one to the living room, were of the standard design for this property.
I had to leave before breakfast, which as a Diamond Gold Passport member is in the restaurant on the Ground Floor.
In the morning check-out was quick but I just missed a shuttle bus as it pulled away from the rear lobby of the hotel. Walking 500 yards to the exit from the parking garage which provides the hotels’ shuttles, meant that I could wait in comfort. As it turned out that driver was about to leave so I had the return shuttle to myself.
A good solid property that I am sure will be great when it finishes the refurbishment to Hyatt standards.
