On a recent trip I connected from London City Airport to New York JFK at Madrid. After getting off the plane I found an Iberia agent directing passengers who were connecting downstairs where I found a bus waiting. The Terminal, 4S where most of the long haul flights leave is some distance from the main terminal and so you would normally have to take a little train.
The transfer bus was a great idea.
After about 10 minutes the agent appeared and confirmed that I was the only passenger, and so my personal transfer journey started.
The bus took me in to a long tunnel and then emerged with great views of the tarmac. A Thai plane taxing:
The nicely designed terminal has supports marked in various colours – we came out of the tunnel at the Red End.
The gates are marked clearly:
More views of planes – there were not many there at the time I connected.
I was dropped off at a door on the ground floor and taking a couple of escalators deposited me at the Duty Free shop where the Iberia lounge is located.
Lounge Entrance – a review of the lounge will follow tomorrow.
