It appears that Qatar Airways has built up a 10% stake in their OneWorld partner IAG. IAG operates British Airways and Iberia. This is a pretty interesting move at a time when IAG is trying to acquire Aer Lingus, the Irish Flagcarrier.

Watch this space but the Chief Executive of IAG, Willy Walsh is describing Qatar as a ‘long time supportive partner’. The airline, and its own famous Chief Exec is familiar with getting its own way. I wonder how ‘supportive’ the relationship turns out to be.
