There is more than one Hyatt Place in FLL, and I selected the closest. This was a good choice as my flight from Washington Dulles was nearly four hours late – getting in at 1am. A fellow 1K passenger on my flight from Seattle was also flying on the same plane and I guested him in to the Hyatt Club and we used our meal vouchers together. Luckily he had his car at the airport and the hotel was on his way home. Yes, I got in to a car with a strange man!
Despite arriving at 1am the staff were friendly and I was off to my room in double quick time. It was a standard Hyatt Place room
No tub, just a shower:
Next morning I had a lie in before my next flight (which was also plagued with delays) and noticed that there is a Hyatt House right across the road from the Hyatt Place – a great mattress run opportunity that I might use in the future.
The breakfast was pleasant with the Manager coming and talking to guests and taking a real interest in what they needed. I spilt something – jet lag – and it was cleared in 30 seconds. This property takes a pride in its property and this shows through at every level.
The shuttle bus is shared with the Hyatt house and runs fairly frequently. As I had a lie in I was the only passenger on the bus:
So a great stay and a property I would be back to again.
When my wife and I got married in 2011, we used this hotel as the “base of operations” for our out of town guests. They were very accommodating towards us and went out of their way to help. Would definitely highly recommend this hotel as they are a jewel in the Hyatt chain.
