Lufthansa has just published it’s cheap Business Class fares for Christmas and New Year from the UK.
You only have a week to buy them. Other conditions are:
- Purchase by: 28.09.2012
- Departure period: 22.12.2012-06.01.2013
- Return period: 25.12.2012-10.01.2013
- Advance Purchase Period: 21 days
- Minimum stay: 3 days.
- Maximum stay: Travel must be completed by 10.01.2013.
On a pence per mile the deals to Asia and South America look good. Interesting that departure includes 23 and 24 December, typically very busy days, but as they are subject to availability so it might work that way. When I checked to HKG there was quite limited availability, forcing a flight from London to Munich, back to Frankfurt and then on to HKG – suggesting the LHR-FRA flights are pretty busy on the 23rd at least.
Tickets book in P class, earning only 100% of miles flown as Status Miles on LH now.

Do you think it’s worth picking up one of these flights as a mileage run? With my currently scheduled flights, I need 15k more miles to hit higher status next year on UA.
@Liz – They are pretty good value for that I think. To be fair the LH hard product is not the best – angled lie flat, rather than truly flat.
I was thinking I might do one as I need an extra 10k with United, but only for some more upgrade certs!
