KLM will start flying between London City Airport and Amsterdam from 16 Feb 2017. Oddly, the current provision by CityJet, which flies with Air France flight numbers will continue to operate.

KLM will run about 4 flights per day, with less at weekend using an E190 aircraft

Seating is 2-2 as with the BA flights which ply the same routing.

Fare seem lower than from Heathrow based on a random check this morning. At a quick look returns for £87 were available for the just over 60 minute flight. KLM do charge for seat reservations with exit row seats commanding a premium.

However, joining Flying Blue, the frequent flyer scheme for KLM/Air France does see a reduction, except in the cost of the cheap seats.

It will be interesting to see if this takes off. There is much competition on the route and I imagine that KLM hope to use their famous connecting in one terminal popularity to secure customers routing through Schipol.
