Most of the visitors to the event were away at the Virgin Training Centre when I checked in on the Friday afternoon. The room was a Regency Club room on the 7th floor facing over the park.

The room was bright, with a fairly traditional layout with the bathroom immediately behind the door.

The room had Molton Brown toiletries, bathrobes, plenty of towels and was bright and clean.

The WiFi was free as part of being a Gold Passport Diamond Member and was pretty fast. It worked fine in the room. There were also plenty of electrical outlets with multiple types – UK, US etc. There was a mini-bar, as well as a tea/coffee supply and a kettle.

The room was pleasantly appointed and comfortable.

Evening Events

Some of the visitors went to dinner at the restaurant on top of the Swiss-Re building, whilst other of us visited the Shakespeare exhibition at the British Museum. A short walk from the hotel was the bus stop for the British Museum – and as we walked past Selfridges I noticed it was lit red- presumably for Christmas. Spectacular.

The British Museum was open late and American Express were hosting a lovely reception – more champagne and canapes. It was located in the restaurant at the top of the old Reading Room, up the most spectacular staircase:

Amex had laid on a Blue Badge Guide (experts in all things London) to introduce the exhibition.

After a stroll around the museums ground floor we located the Rosetta Stone in the Egyptian galleries

A short bus journey got us back to the hotel in time for bed.
