Some other observations from my recent LCY to JFK flight

I published the menu yesterday from my recent LCY to JFK service on BA1, and note a few other changes to the service.

Ground Handling

a plane on the runway

BA1's plane on the right

a bar with drinks and beverages

Enhanced offering of food/drinks in the lounge

We taxied to the end of the runway, where I had stood a few weeks before during my backstage tour of the airport. However, it was daylight this time:

a view of a runway from a window

I noticed for the first time that the you can see the Olympic park being cleared after the Games:

an aerial view of a stadiumHopefully by the first quarter of next year we’ll be able to visit the park to see what they have done with it and to visit The Orbit.

a blue light with a person in the middle

The flight attendant call buttons are blue on the A318

Some excellent cloud formations from the window:

clouds and blue sky with clouds

a screen with a picture of a building

iPads provide inflight entertainment

I still think that this is an excellent way to arrive in to the US, as you clear immigration in Shannon but it will be interested to see what happens when the times change and the late flight loses it’s US preclearance.
