My favourite six words when checking in. “Would you like a suite tonight?”. Andaz Wall Street

a white sign with numbers on itChecking in at the Andaz on Wall Street, the host (for that is what they are called at Andaz) asked my favourite question – “Would you like a suite tonight?”. It’s always great to hear, and never having had a suite at this property I was delighted, and stumbled out with ‘Yes, please’.

The room had a sitting area, desk/TV stand, seperate bed and a large bathroom. Not a two room quite, but pretty great.

a room with a television and a couch

Living Area

a bathroom with a sink and a mirror

Bathroom and tub (right)

a bed with white sheets and a lamp

Bed

a room with a television and a robe

Desk/TV

I had 1102, which is a room on the back/side of the hotel, and whilst the views are not spectacular, it was pretty quiet.

As normal the mini-bar had free sodas, and some snacks. The property seems to have switched from the more esoteric sodas, to Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite etc. Not that I mind, it’s still a nice gesture. WiFi is free for all quests and worked quickly and without problem

There is a unit next to the bed which lets you control all of the lighting in the room. This helps you set the mood of the room as well as raising and lowering the blackout blinds:

a close up of a switchI had breakfast at the Well & Water and the $39 hot buffet was dutifully removed from the bill at check-out. When I checked out the bill was accurate and the host emailed me the bill.

Summary

Another great stay at a property I have liked since it opened. Good staff, a nice breakfast and a suite upgrade. An almost perfect stay. (I am back at the end of the week, and I’ll let you know how goes.
