BA confirms NO OnBusiness points for bmi flights unless booked under BA flight number

I wrote last week that bmi was leaving Star Alliance’s business earning scheme Company Plus but that BA’s scheme (OnBusiness) had yet to confirm the position in terms of earning for bmi flights.

Well today arrives an email reply in responce to my question about earning on bmi, from OnBusiness and it’s not good news:

Dear Miles:

Thank you for writing to us about earning On Business points query.

On Business points can be earned on eligible British Airways published fares.
On Business points can also be earned on selected flights with eligible
partner airlines, when booked with a BA flight number.

On Business points are not earned on corporate or marine dealt fares.
Fares booked on oneworld˙ alliances and franchise flights will not earn
On Business points, except on selected American Airlines, Comair, Iberia and
Qantas flights when booked with a BA flight number.  On Business points
are not earned on British Airways Executive Club reward flights or on On
Business reward flights.

To check whether you would earn On Business points on bmi flights from 20
April, please contact our On Business Service Centre on 0844 493 0748,
Monday-Friday, 09:00 – 17:00, where one of our agents will be able to assist
you.

I hope they resolve this swiftly for you.

I was thinking of calling BA later to see what the writer might mean by “I hope they resolve this swiftly for you.”
